I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and a teaching certificate from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. I have been deeply involved in the local community for twenty years and am presently substituting in the local public and private schools.I feel good about being a part of the learning process. I enjoy teaching immensely because I love kids and I love education. During the course of my day, I help children overcome difficulties they may have in their studies. I also get to present learning as interesting and enjoyable, which I consider to be my most important responsibility. While learned facts might come and go, a positive view of the learning process will serve them well their entire lives. I am available to tutor Elementary Math, English, Reading, Writing, Phonics, Grammar, and Study Skills. I can also help adult students prepare for the GED. I am excited about the prospect of working with new students and look forward to many enjoyable tutoring session in the future.I like to spend my free time traveling, scuba diving, riding horses, and reading.
