I tutor students in subjects including math, history, and science as well as geography and government, but also focus on areas such as accounting, finance, and business. It's important to be engaged while being tutored and not overwhelmed. I incorporate practice questions and computer tools in my tutoring sessions. Open communication is important as well; I appreciate any feedback I get from the other side. It is also important that each student is comfortable. I'm always flexible with location and time. My students, and their parents, have said my work has contributed to students' success. Their grades, test scores, and confidence improve and, most importantly, they begin to see their potential. I am passionate about learning and teaching. A member of Mensa, I'm good at many subjects and like helping others succeed. I have a B.S. in Accounting, which I earned at Truman State University, and got my master's degree in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis. Additionally, I have an MBA and have a registered patent with the U.S. Patent Office. It seems my life is busy but in my spare time I bike, swim, read, hike, travel, watch movies, and spend time with the dog and family.
