As a native of St. Louis, I went to Sarah Lawrence College. After receiving my bachelor's degree, I went on to graduate school Washington University. This is where I went on to study in Education and Social Work. My background in both academia and social work allows me to better connect and help students. I have worked with adolescents during my social work and I believe that this allows me to understand students to become a better teacher. I specialize in teaching all forms of English. I use English to help their critical thinking, comprehension, and their ability to analyze situations. I also help with all forms of writing, including things like creating a draft and helping them with revision. While working with students I strive to help improve organizational skills, build confidence, and to inspire them. I believe that each student is unique. I make sure to use this information to tailor each session with a student. I will work to find the most appropriate way to help each student learn. I find it very rewarding to help students to find their uniqueness in both their writing and their thinking.In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, read, and to relax and watch movies.
