I attended Washington University to earn my degree in math. I also studied math related subjects like accounting and electrical engineering as an undergraduate, and I tutored students in physics and math. When I begin learning a new subject, I dive right in and I'm determined to succeed. I bring the same approach to tutoring. When I work with a student, I start out by discussing the basic principles of the concept, and then I help guide the student through building on top of that the more complex ideas. I also help students understand how to solve problems, because formulas and equations are forgotten overtime, but understanding how to find an answer based on what you know and applying your knowledge will stay with you forever. Many of the students I work with are initially frustrated or feel like they can not do math, but they leave confident in their abilities and motivated to achieve success.
