Education
I love tutoring because I enjoy encouraging students and helping them reach their full potential. I have worked as a writing coach at a local university, helping students in the areas writing and grammar. As an English major, I've taken numerous college level writing and literature courses, as well as a class specifically about tutoring writing. All of my coursework has provided me with a great foundation for tutoring. I received my Associate of Arts in Communication from St. Charles Community College in May of 2009 with a GPA of 4.0. I am currently a Senior English major at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and am honored to also be enrolled in the prestigious Pierre Laclede Honors College.
Experience
I worked as a writing coach at Missouri Baptist University's writing lab in 2009, tutoring university students in writing and grammar. I also developed handouts on writing-related topics that are being used by students on MBU campus. I am now working at MBU as the Study Skills Development Specialist, coaching students in developing stronger study skills. I teach workshops at the University as well as work with students one-on-one. I still tutor in the writing lab on an as-need basis, as well. I would be happy to share a recommendation letter that my supervisor wrote for me, if requested.

Hobbies
I'm a "returning learner," having returned to college after over 20 years away. I have four children aged 17 - 24 years old. I enjoy hiking, walking, and spending time with my family. My current favorites TV shows are Glee, House, and Survivor!
